Can the rabbit win the race?
Question:
A rabbit and a tortoise decided
to run a race. The rabbit was so confident of
winning that he allowed the tortoise to start
ten minutes earlier than him. Can the rabbit win
the race? The trouble is that when the rabbit
starts, the tortoise has already covered some
distance and reached at a point P1. When rabbit
reach P1 the tortoise has moved a distance and
reached a point say P2. After n such steps when
rabbit is at Pn the tortoise has reached point
Pn+1. You might say that the rabbit can jump over
all such point in one step. But still jumping
or moving the rabbit has to pass all this points.
So it seems that the rabbit can never defeat the
tortoise. What do you think.
