Usain Bolt opened his 2010 season with victory in the
400m at the Camperdown Classic in Jamaica on 14th February.
He clocked a new record time of 45.86 seconds.
In cycling the Norwegian Edvald Boasson Hagen claimed
victory in the final Time Trial to take a second place
in the Tour of Oman on 19th February ahead of Fabian
Cancellara, the world time trial champion and third
placed Cameron Myer. The Armenian Leva Kirakoysan regained
the European super-featherweight boxing title on 19th
February in three rounds beating Scott Lawton who has
twice failed to win the British lightweight title.
Venus Williams overpowered Victoria Azarenka of Belarusia
6-3 7-5 in one hour and thirtyone minutes to retain
her Dubai Championship title on Saturday, 42 title of
her career and her first of 2010.
