The city of Rio de Janeiro has been elected
as the Host City of the 2016 Games following a vote
of the IOC Session. Rio de Janeiro received 66 votes
compared to Madrid's 32 in the final round of voting.
The London Olympics Logo
"This is the vision at the very
heart of our brand" said Sebastian Coe. The logo
unveiled in 2007 has not been free of adverse comment
. The emblem based on the year 2012 in a series of shades
of pink blue, green and orange will evolve in the run
up to the Games with the word London and Olympic rings
included in the first two digits of the logo.
The London night sky was transformed
on 31st October 2009 evening like never before as the
BT Tower, London’s iconic landmark, was spectacularly
lit up with a firework display to celebrate 1,000 days
