Charles Paddock - USA

Charles Paddock hardly four feet nothing asked his primary school coach "Coach, what can I do to become the world's fastest sprinter? What is the secret of speed?" He was told that he should be able to raise his knees high and drive his legs like pistons. And that was exactly what he did when he won 100 metres in Antwerp 1920 Olympic games . "Gee, Mr.Paddock , I would give anything if I could be an Olympic champion like you",a skinny black boy asked.Touched by the boy's sincerity Paddock spoke gently, "young fellow , if you will work for it , if you will train ,you can become an Olympic champion". The boy was none other than James Cleveland Owens.
